Statue of Solomon Tohelyan to be Installed in Marseille

A statue commemorating the legacy of Solomon Tohelyan will be unveiled on March 15 in Beaumont, Marseille. On March 15, 1921, Armenian revolutionary Solomon Tohelyan assassinated Talaat Pasha in Berlin, one of the organizers of the Armenian Genocide. Tohelyan's actions were part of the "Nemesis" operation carried out by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, which sought to hold accountable those responsible for the Armenian Genocide. After the assassination, Tohelyan was tried in a German court, where he was found innocent and subsequently released.
