All Airports in the Paris Area to Be Closed During Olympic Opening Ceremony

All airports in the Paris area will be closed during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in July. This information was reported by AIR Live.

During a Senate hearing on March 5, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin discussed the security measures planned for the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games on July 26.

The Interior Minister stated that the airspace will be closed within a radius of about 150 kilometers around Paris. "It is quite historic that we are completely suspending airport operations," Darmanin said.

Additionally, helicopters and drones will be flying during the ceremony for security reasons.

The Paris Summer Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, while the Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8.
