The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, has addressed the pathways to peace establishment in the South Caucasus. He stated, ‘The EU is engaged in the stability and security of the South Caucasus with a long-term perspective. Peace is achievable. The goals must be to engage in dialogue with each other and to reach sustainable cohabitation through demarcation and delimitation, as well as recognition of borders. This must also include and ensure the unblocking of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the connection of mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan. In addition to the EU’s involvement, we are also expecting Turkey’s participation in its regional leadership.
