Second Round of Armenia-Azerbaijan Foreign Ministers' Negotiations Begins

The second round of negotiations between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan has commenced in Berlin. This information was announced by Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Minister.

"According to our previously declared information, the second day of negotiations between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has started in Berlin," the statement noted.

She emphasized that discussions on the issues related to the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations are ongoing.

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that yesterday, on February 28, a trilateral meeting took place in Berlin involving Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.

It is recalled that in 2021, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the willingness to sign a peace treaty with Armenia. In March 2022, Baku presented its proposal consisting of five points regarding the normalization of relations to Yerevan. The Armenian side made additional amendments and sent its version. Since then, several rounds of negotiations have taken place at various levels between the parties.

On October 4, 2023, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that there are three principles on which agreement would lead to the signing of the peace treaty.
