Russia Ready for Dialogue with the U.S. on Strategic Stability Issues, Says Putin

Moscow is prepared for dialogue with Washington on issues of strategic stability, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin during his address to the Federal Assembly, as reported by TASS.

“Russia is ready to engage in dialogue with the United States on matters of strategic stability,” said the president.

At the same time, according to Putin, Moscow rejects the possibility of negotiations with Washington on strategic stability that are disconnected from Russia's national security concerns.

“Our position is clear: If you want to discuss important and responsible questions of security and stability for the entire planet, then it is necessary to do so only within a unified complex. Naturally, this includes all aspects that touch upon our national interests and directly affect the security of our country, security for Russia,” emphasized Putin.

In his address, the Russian president also mentioned that the country's strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full readiness. “Strategic nuclear forces are fully prepared for guaranteed deployment,” he said.

Additionally, Putin announced that Russia is ready for dialogue with all interested countries and unions to create a new vision of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.

“It is evident that work is needed in the direction of creating a new outline of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia in the near visible future. We are ready for substantive discussions on this topic with all interested countries and unions,” said the Russian president.
