Snow in Vardenyats Pass: Current Situation on Roads in Armenia

The Rescue Service informs that there are closed roads within the Republic of Armenia. Until March 5, due to road renovation works, the Vanadzor-Alaverdi stretch of the M-6 highway, around kilometers 38-40, will be closed for buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers. A detour will be in effect via the town of Novembri.

In Aragatsotn Province, the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and to Kari Lake are closed. Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers. Snow is currently falling in Vardenyats Pass.

Regarding Lars: According to information from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
