Details of the Murder Near the Cemetery of Pokr Masrik Village
On February 21, at 19:15, the operatived management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report from the Vardenis Medical Center that two men had been taken in for treatment due to stab wounds, and their health condition was serious. This was reported by the Police.
The operational group that arrived at the hospital found out that the victims were brothers, aged 40 and 36, residents of Pokr Masrik village. The 36-year-old Ara Lalayan died at the hospital.
The officers of the Vardenis police department shared the obtained information with the main division of criminal police and the regional department of Gegharkunik, along with the Martuni division personnel. As a result of operational-search activities, it was found that around 18:30, a quarrel and brawl broke out among a 44-year-old man from Arpunk village, his 19 and 15-year-old sons, and three brothers from Pokr Masrik village over domestic issues, near the cemetery.
During this incident, the 19-year-old from Arpunk inflicted stab wounds on the 40-year-old and 36-year-old men.
As a result of the measures taken, at 20:20, the 19-year-old was located, arrested, and transported to the Vardenis police department, where he confessed to the crime. He was presented to the prosecuting authority.
A 44-year-old man, the father of the 19-year-old, was also presented to the investigative department of Vardenis. He provided a folding knife, the weapon used in the crime, taken from the scene. The documents prepared have been sent to the Vardenis investigative department.
A criminal case has been initiated based on the characteristics of murder and attempted murder. The 19-year-old has been transferred to the holding facility for detainees at the Vardenis police department. An investigation is underway.
