We Will Attempt to Reach an Agreement with Azerbaijan on This Issue, Secretary of the Security Council
The mirrored withdrawal of troops is always on Armenia's agenda. This was stated by the Secretary of Armenia's Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, during a conversation with reporters.
"We will try to reach an agreement with Azerbaijan on this issue, as it is a matter where both sides need to come to an understanding," he said.
According to the Secretary of the Security Council, Armenia is firmly convinced that a mirrored withdrawal of troops is one of the best tools to prevent incidents. "If the Armed Forces and border troops are stationed along the entire border at a certain distance, naturally, this will be a factor of stability," Grigoryan noted.
Grigoryan found it difficult to say what Azerbaijan's goal is, as they oppose the mirrored withdrawal of troops. "There can be various differences, but this is a matter that continues to be discussed on our agenda," he added.
