As a Soldier's Father, I Say: I Was Also Taking Uniforms and Undergarments When You Said There Was No Problem - Gegham Manukyan to Deputy Minister of Defense
In the armed forces, remuneration should not be linked to certification evaluations. This was stated by Gegham Manukyan, a member of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, during a committee meeting.
According to Manukyan, relying solely on certification to raise soldiers' pay is insufficient when salaries in other sectors are increasing without certification. The lawmaker also spoke about the quality of soldiers' uniforms.
"Changing a soldier's clothing is a very important and difficult task. As a soldier's father, I say: I was also taking uniforms and undergarments when you said there was no problem. You have been announcing since last year, and the media also reports that the Armed Forces will have new uniforms in 2024, but if you weren't ready, you shouldn't have announced that. It is better to clearly tell the public that the uniforms will be ready in 5 years," Manukyan said, addressing the Deputy Minister of Defense.
