VIDEO: Polish Farmers' Mass Protest at the Ukrainian Border

Edita

Polish farmers have initiated a mass protest in the village of Dorohusk, located at the border with Ukraine, with farmers from other EU countries joining their cause. This was reported by Radio Lublin. According to TASS, several hundred farmers have blocked access to the 'Yahodyn-Dorohusk' checkpoint.

The protest involves farmers from all over Poland, as well as their counterparts from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. Organizers expect at least 2,000 participants.

The protesters are demanding the closure of the border with Ukraine and oppose the European strategy for reducing carbon emissions. Earlier, protesting Polish farmers had blocked a truck intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

On February 9, Polish farmers began extensive protests and blockades at border crossings with Ukraine. They are calling for limits or an outright ban on the import of cheap agricultural products from Ukraine, strengthened support for national livestock, and are expressing dissent against the EU's 'Green Deal' strategy, which aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. On February 20, protesters plan to blockade all border crossing points with Ukraine.
