VIDEO: Pashinyan Explains What He Means by 'Fourth Republic'

“Many think that something needs to be deleted, and something needs to be created; if that is the case, then only in a conceptual-ideological sense,” stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, clarifying what he meant by the term ‘Fourth Republic’. “By saying Fourth Republic, I mean the newly adopted constitution, not the changes to the constitution that have been adopted by the people.”

The Prime Minister reiterated that elections, including constitutional referendums, will not be falsified in the country. “If during our leadership someone sets the issue of falsifying elections, I am almost sure that even we won’t be able to do such a thing in such a case,” he said.

Pashinyan also mentioned that they do not yet have a package of constitutional amendments. According to him, it is important to have discussions and develop an understanding first, and then move on to the substance.
