Video: Our Army Must Strengthen Only to Defend 29.8 Thousand Square Kilometers, Says Pashinyan
If you have a strong and capable army to achieve legitimate goals, no one can question why you are strengthening your military. This was stated by Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Public Radio.
According to him, if you have a goal whose legitimacy may be questioned internationally, many problems arise.
"I say that we must make our army combat-ready to protect the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of our country. And the territory of our country is identical to the territorial integrity of the Armenian SSR. When we say that we are strengthening our army to ensure the security of this territory, no one can question why we are doing this. But if we frame the issue of strengthening the army as doing so to restore historical justice, a very simple question arises: why should others allow this army to strengthen in order to resolve the issue of historical justice?" Pashinyan noted. More details in the video.
