VIDEO: Police Official Embezzles 8,000 Liters of Gasoline
The Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has conducted operational-investigative measures and an internal investigation, revealing that a person occupying a high-ranking position in the police has embezzled 8,000 liters of gasoline designated for the operational vehicles of his department.
In January of this year, on December 28, he received gasoline vouchers from the automotive facility to operate the vehicles, which, however, were no longer in his possession by January 9. He claimed that he returned the vouchers to various gas stations in Yerevan in exchange for debts; however, this was denied during the internal investigation.
Thus, the official misappropriated the gasoline entrusted to him by exploiting his governmental or official authority. The documents have been forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office for further action. The self-cleaning process of the Ministry's subdivisions continues.
