Discount Rates for Different Groups to Be Implemented: Details on Transportation Price Increase
The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Suren Grigoryan, addressed the rumors regarding the increase in public transportation prices on his page. He stated, “A draft decision by the council to ensure the full implementation of a unified ticketing system has been circulated within the Yerevan City Hall. Although the purpose of presenting the draft is to discuss it in various contexts, some council members are already spreading misleading information that is taken out of context and is factually incorrect.
Tomorrow, I will be on Public Television to present the project, its objectives, and the current content, noting that certain parts may be subject to change based on constructive criticism and arguments, but never through manipulation and falsehoods.
At this moment, I will only mention that: 1. Like in many parts of the world, the unified ticketing system will include ticket products designed for regular users of public transport (at comparatively affordable prices) and primarily ticket products intended for tourists and guests of the city (at comparatively higher prices). 2. Discount rates will be implemented for different groups (pensioners, students, etc.),” Grigoryan wrote.
