Video: Official Accused of Corruption Arrested During Meeting in Kazakhstan

An official in Kazakhstan has been arrested on corruption charges during a meeting. Representatives of the Anti-Corruption Service arrived at the akimat (regional government office) for a consultation and stated that they had questions for the head of the housing department.

The city's mayor, who was presiding over the meeting, remarked that Anti-Corruption employees could take away individuals accused of corruption. “There are many honest workers among the akimat staff, but there are also corrupt ones. I have warned you many times,” he said.
