Updated Information on Roads in Armenia
The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
The roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake are closed. The Berd-Jambarak road and the Vardenyats Pass are closed due to blizzards for all types of vehicles.
The Dilijan serpentine is closed for trucks. The Stepanavan serpentine is also closed for trucks and difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles, while the Spitak serpentine and the Alagyaz-Tsilkar road are difficult for trucks due to blizzards.
Blizzard conditions are reported in the 'Meghru Sar', Shinuhayr-'Zanger', and Sisian 'Zanger' sections. Snowfall is recorded in the 'Meghru Sar' area. Blizzard conditions are also reported in the Ashotsk and Amasia regions.
According to information received from Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
