Restrictions to be Imposed on Erotic, Horror, and Violent Films and Programs

Erotic audiovisual programs and films containing horror and violence, as well as broadcasts that could negatively affect the health, mental, and physical development of minors, can be aired between 24:00 and 6:00. This was stated by Arthur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the "Civil Contract" faction, referencing the relevant law from the podium of the National Assembly.

Government member Hakob Aslanyan suggested that such content not be restricted to specific hours, but rather be encrypted. In response, Hovhannisyan noted, "I do not know how technically feasible that is, but there are certain TV channels in the cable broadcasting network where the technology you mentioned is applied. Now we are talking about audiovisual programs and series, the standards of which should be established by the [Regulatory Commission] and work with production companies to cleanse the airwaves of these detrimental phenomena. Suggestions have been made in the committee meeting for those programs to have signs, so that parents can also monitor them. Essentially, if there is no parental control, no matter what law we write, we still cannot prevent minors from accessing them."
