Two Children Die from Measles on the Same Day in the Same Village in Azerbaijan

Two children have died from measles on the same day in the same village in Azerbaijan, local media reports. According to the reports, a child named Ismailov Yusuf Raul oglu, born in 2014 and suffering from cerebral palsy, was brought in critical condition to the emergency department of the central regional hospital in Tovuz. After several hours, he was transferred to the infectious diseases department. Due to the worsening of his condition, he was then moved to the intensive care unit. Despite all the measures taken, the child died from complications arising from measles and pneumonia.

The second case occurred in the same Tovuz region. Another resident, also born in 2014 from the same village, was admitted to the central hospital of Tovuz, where he died from measles at 16:00 local time. An investigation is underway regarding the incidents.
