Video: Man Strikes 4-Year-Old Child in Store While Intoxicated, Russia

In the city of Kurchatov, Kursk region, Russia, a man in an intoxicated state struck a 4-year-old boy, claiming he mistook him for a mannequin and supposedly did not notice the child's movements. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"The man was taken into custody under the influence of alcohol. He provided a statement in the morning. According to him, he thought he was hitting a mannequin. But he did not notice that the child was moving," the committee indicated.

The child has since been examined by doctors and fortunately did not sustain serious injuries. He is now at home with his parents.

In the incident's video, the adult man approaches the child and strikes him in the face with his fist. A woman shoves him away and embraces the child, at which point another man runs in and knocks the assailant to the ground with a punch. According to police, it was established that he is the father of the four-year-old child. Law enforcement has detained the man and verified his intoxication. A criminal case has been initiated against him.
