Yes, it will get more expensive, but not as much as stated, says Deputy Mayor
You probably did not fully grasp the overall meaning of his statement. This was noted by Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan during a meeting with journalists, responding to the statement of Armenian Civil Contract faction leader Armen Galjyan.
“Mr. Galjyan’s statement was not directed at the idea that the rate is currently 100 drams and will remain 100 drams, but rather that the figures published by some of our fellow council members are false, manipulative, and have no relation to reality. In other words, it is getting more expensive, but not as much as published, which does not mean it is not getting more expensive at all,” said Grigoryan.
The Deputy Mayor noted, “Yes, it will get more expensive, but not as much as stated. Therefore, when someone says it will get more expensive, it is hard to blame them for avoiding saying that it is indeed getting more expensive.”
In response to a journalist's observation that similar statements have been made since yesterday, he noted, “They have announced that it will be 260 drams, and we said that that figure is false, and we repeat that it is false. However, that number could be both false and, let’s say, it really is getting more expensive, just not by that much.”
