Three Countries to Create a Corridor for Military Equipment Transport

The Netherlands, Germany, and Poland have signed a declaration to establish a military corridor for the transport of troops and military equipment, announced Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

“We need a ‘military Schengen’ to move military personnel and equipment more quickly and efficiently. This will make Europe stronger. Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands have signed a declaration to create a military corridor,” Ollongren wrote on the X social media platform.

Earlier, NATO's Allied Joint Force Command Rear Support and Logistics Chief, Alexander Zolfrank, expressed a desire to establish a ‘military Schengen’ that would allow the forces of alliance countries to move freely. Currently, NATO forces are facing obstacles in the form of various national regulations when transporting personnel and munitions.

The NATO official added that it is essential to “prepare the theater for possible military operations” in case the fifth article of NATO’s charter on collective defense is invoked. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov stressed that Europe is unwilling to listen to Russia's security concerns and is ignoring the principle of indivisibility of security.
