First Study of Armenian Manuscripts at Iran's Largest Manuscript Center

For the first time, Armenian manuscripts will be studied at Iran's largest manuscript center. This announcement was made by the Matenadaran.

A delegation from the Matenadaran visited the Aytollah Marashi Najafi Library in Qom, Iran. The delegation was received by Mahmoud Marashi Najafi, son of the center's founder.

The Aytollah Marashi Najafi Library is the largest center for Islamic manuscripts in Iran and the third in the entire Islamic world. The collection includes approximately 85,000 manuscripts in various languages, containing texts related to both religious matters and various branches of science.

A tour was organized through the center's manuscript storages, digitization, and restoration departments. The importance and readiness for mutual cooperation were emphasized, which will initiate the study of Armenian manuscripts held at the center, according to the Matenadaran named after Mesrop Mashtots.
