Musk's Company Implants Device in Human Brain

The first human has received a Neuralink implant and is recovering well. This was announced by American entrepreneur Elon Musk.

"The first person received an implant from Neuralink yesterday and is recovering well (after the surgery)," Musk wrote on his social media platform 'X'.

According to Musk, the initial data received regarding the device's performance shows promising results.

Later, Musk mentioned that the new Neuralink device is called Telepathy. According to him, it allows the owner to control a smartphone or computer using the power of thought, primarily designed for those who have lost the ability to use their limbs.

"Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a typist or an auctioneer. That’s the goal," Musk added.

Last May, Neuralink received regulatory approval to conduct clinical trials on humans, and in September announced the recruitment of volunteers for clinical trials involving the implantation of devices in the brain, which could also be used to control prosthetics.

Musk stated that the company plans to create prosthetics controlled by the implant placed in the brain. According to the businessman, the cost of such a service could be around $60,000.
