Allegations Arise That We Are Planning to Remove the Image of Ararat from the Armenian Emblem: Chakhoyan

The Deputy Head of the Prime Minister's Office, Taron Chakhoyan, believes that even after depicting Everest, the highest mountain in the world, on the Armenian emblem, reality will not change.

“Allegations have arisen that we are planning to remove the image of Ararat from the Armenian emblem. Even after depicting Everest, reality will not change. We must move away from the logic of building a state with grandiloquent speeches. A nation is not sustained through speeches; a state is not built with rhetoric and pathos, and a homeland cannot be saved by burning flags or planting them. Furthermore, we must be particularly sensitive when it comes to the symbols of the Armenian state. They represent the state and not the people. The Armenian emblem symbolizes the Republic of Armenia and not the Armenian people, who have lived for centuries without statehood. And most importantly, we must stop being merely a people; we are a state,” Chakhoyan wrote on his Facebook page.
