Blocked Roads and Fog: Current Situation in Armenia
The Rescue Service reports that there are blocked and difficult roads across the territory of Armenia.
Due to road renovation work, the section of the M-6 highway from Vanadzor to Alaverdi, between kilometers 38-40, will be closed to buses and trucks with trailers until February 15. A detour will operate via the town of Noyemberyan.
In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Khar are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is also closed.
Furthermore, roads from Noyemberyan to Ijevan, Vanadzor to Alaverdi, Vanadzor to Dilijan, and in the Stepanavan region, as well as the Dilijan and Spitak loops, and from the Jermuk intersection to Jermuk city and towards Saravan in the area known as "Zanger," as well as the road from the village of Syunik to the same "Zanger" area, are closed to truck trailers.
In the Lori region, the roads along the Yerevan-Sevan highway from kilometers 24-39 (snow), Abovyan to Jrambar, Vedi to Lanjarr, Alapars to Charentsavan, Amasia to Berdashen, and from the Jermuk intersection to Jermuk city and towards Saravan in the "Zanger" area, are difficult to navigate for all types of vehicles.
Fog has been reported in the Talin region.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Management Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
