The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to Restrict Azerbaijan's Delegation Powers for Blocking Access to Reporters in the Lachin Corridor

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is set to impose restrictions on Azerbaijan's delegation powers due to violations of the organization's principles by the country. This was reported by several sources familiar with the preparations for such a step, in a statement to European Pravda's correspondent in Strasbourg.

A fundamental decision to initiate restrictions on Azerbaijan has already been made at the level of the PACE Presidential Committee. With the commencement of the plenary session at noon, parliamentarians will officially initiate this procedure, likely at the formal initiative of a representative from Germany.

The official complaint against Azerbaijan will focus on the fact that observers from PACE have not been invited to the presidential elections scheduled for February. There is also a grievance regarding Azerbaijan's refusal to allow PACE reporters access to the only road linking the occupied Artsakh to Armenia, known as the Lachin Corridor.

It is still unclear what specific measures PACE plans to implement, as the final decision rests with the assembly.
