Armenian Defense Ministry Addresses Issues with Russia in Armaments Sector
The Armenian Ministry of Defense has stated that most problematic issues with Russian companies in the armaments sector have been resolved; however, several problems remain unsolved. This was revealed in response to a written inquiry from 'Azatutyun', although they did not clarify whether it pertains to the deliveries amounting to $400 million.
Since the Second Artsakh War, Armenian authorities have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction at high levels that they transferred millions of dollars to Russia but received no weapons in return. In contrast, the Russian ambassador insisted a month ago that nearly all contracts in the field of military-technical cooperation between Yerevan and Moscow have been completed on time.
Government deputies recently announced that Russia has already started making deliveries. A member of the Defense Commission, Garik Melkonyan, told 'Azatutyun' about a week ago that a consignment of Russian weapons is already in Armenia.
