NATO Prepares for Large-Scale War with Russia, Says Military Committee Chair
NATO is preparing for a large-scale war with Russia over the next 20 years. This was announced by the Chairman of NATO's Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, according to the British publication Daily Mail. The information was reported by gazeta.ru.
Bauer called on the governments of alliance member countries and civilian populations to prepare for conflict and the prospect of potential conscription. “We must recognize that being in the world is not something we take for granted. And that is why we (NATO forces) are preparing for a conflict with Russia. But the debate is much broader,” he stated.
According to him, it is necessary to have the capability to rely on an industrial base that can produce weapons and ammunition quickly enough to sustain efforts in the event of conflict.
It was previously reported that in January, NATO will conduct its largest exercises in decades, named Steadfast Defender, involving 90,000 soldiers.
