It’s Good to Find Common Ground with Powerful Nuclear Leaders Like Putin: Trump
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken about his good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, emphasizing the importance of engaging with leaders of countries possessing powerful nuclear weapons. This statement was made by the 45th president of the United States during an interview on Fox News.
“You know, it's good to find common ground with people like Putin who have powerful nuclear weapons. I have had discussions with President Xi; I have great relationships with them. If Hillary Clinton had won, you would be in a nuclear war with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un. I also find common ground with him,” Trump stated.
According to him, if he remained U.S. president, Putin “would never have attacked Ukraine.” He added, “They all feared Trump, but they respected him. That’s true,” the former president said.
