This is a very complex situation: Garibashvili on Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, during one of the discussions at the Davos Economic Forum, addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations and the peace treaty. He stated: “Two years ago, I was making attempts for support. We had our first successful mediation when Azerbaijan released 15 detainees, and Armenia handed over the maps of the mined areas to Azerbaijan. It was a successful endeavor. But this is a very complex situation; we understand that there are many players in this region. I would like to add that I am aware of the positions of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, indicating that they want to have bilateral relations with each other. Personally, I believe that this is the right path, because with so many mediators and so many interested parties, the process sometimes becomes more contradictory and ineffective. I wish them success. I have great hope that they will find a solution and sign the peace agreement in the near future,”

stated Irakli Garibashvili.
