Shooting in Kotayk: One Arrested
On January 14, shortly after midnight, a citizen called the Kotayk region's operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reporting that shots were fired towards their home. This was announced by the Armenian police.
An operational group was dispatched to the scene in the village of Kasakh, Kotayk region. It was established that an unidentified individual fired shots from a handgun towards the gate of the aforementioned house, causing property damage.
It was revealed that three young men, two from the village of Ujan and one resident of Yerevan, went to Kasakh for clarifications regarding financial matters and showed disrespect towards the residents of the house. Afterward, a 33-year-old man from Ujan fired shots towards the gate using a handgun, damaging it.
The 33-year-old individual was arrested and taken to the Nairi division of the police. During a personal search, a 7.62 mm caliber handgun cartridge was found in his possession. Measures are being taken to locate the other participants of the hooliganism and the weapon used in the crime. The necessary documentation has been sent to the investigative body.
An investigation is underway.
