Snow, Black Ice: Roads Closed

The Rescue Service informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

Due to road repair works until February 15, the section of the M-6 highway near Vanadzor-Alaverdi, specifically the 38th-40th km, will be closed for buses and heavy vehicles with trailers or semi-trailers. A detour will operate through the city of Noyemberyan.

The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the Stone Lake in the Aragatsotn region are also closed.

In the city of Jermuk, there is black ice on the roads, including the Saravan-Zanger and Sisian-Zanger sections. Snowfall has been reported in the regions of Ashotik and Amasia, Gyumri, Talin, Aparan, and in the cities of Hrazdan and Charentsavan, as well as in the section known as the "Chayn's Curves" near Hrazdan.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for heavy vehicles. Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
