Ukrainian Armed Forces Shell Belgorod: Situation Tense

The governor of Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported via his Telegram channel that Ukrainian military forces shelled the city of Belgorod twice this morning, describing the situation in the city as "tense." The information was relayed by RIA Novosti.

"The situation in Belgorod continues to be tense, with two shellings occurring since morning; air defense measures have been activated. At dawn, we will conduct door-to-door checks to assess the damage, including roofs and windows, and we will begin restoration work," Gladkov stated.

He added that local authorities would accompany him on a tour of the area. "I will definitely inform you about the destruction that has occurred and the measures we are taking," emphasized the regional leader.

Gladkov also mentioned that an alert for a missile attack was issued in Belgorod. "If you are at home, do not approach the windows. Seek shelter in rooms without windows (hallways, bathrooms, lavatories, or basements). If you are on the street, go to a shelter or another safe place," he advised.

The governor reminded residents that they could install the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations app on their phones for quick alerts about shelling.

As Gladkov reported, on Wednesday morning, the air defense system was activated over Belgorod and the Belgorod region, intercepting several aerial targets approaching the city.

It is noteworthy that following the Ukrainian armed forces' shelling on December 30, 70 individuals remain hospitalized in Belgorod. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated that after the shelling by Ukrainian armed forces in the region, which claimed more than 20 lives, 70 individuals, some in serious condition, are still in hospitals.
