This Crime Will Never Go Unanswered and Unpunished: Hezbollah
The Lebanese movement Hezbollah has promised to respond to the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Deputy Chairman Saleh Al-Arouri, according to reports from Middle Eastern media. Interfax.ru has shared this information.
"We reaffirm that this crime will never go unanswered and unpunished," the organization's statement reads. The document also emphasizes that its fighters are on high alert for retaliatory actions.
Hezbollah has condemned the drone strike targeting the Hamas office in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which resulted in Al-Arouri's death, labeling it a serious attack on Lebanon, its people, its security, and sovereignty, as well as a dangerous development in the course of the war.
French President Emmanuel Macron has called on Israeli authorities to refrain from actions that could lead to an escalation of the conflict, as reported by the Elysee Palace. Macron stated in a phone call with Israeli military cabinet member Benny Gantz that it is crucial to avoid any escalation, particularly in Lebanon.
The official representative of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, has condemned the "treacherous assassination" of Saleh Al-Arouri by Israel. At the same time, Israel has not yet officially announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted the strike that led to the death of the Hamas leader.
IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated during a briefing that the army is on a very high level of readiness. "We are in a high state of preparedness for any scenario," Hagari emphasized but did not mention Al-Arouri's death. "The most important thing I want to convey is that we are focused and remain focused on combating Hamas," he added.
