Russia Surpasses Western Countries in Arms Production, Says Deputy Prime Minister

Russia has surpassed Western countries in arms production, according to Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. He noted that Russia has begun to pick up the pace of production, doing so "sooner than Western countries," but remarked that "the question is how long this race will continue over time."

In an interview with RIA Novosti, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that there is an understanding within the country concerning its direction. It is necessary to replenish reserves and "maintain the established pace of production."

"But as for how much courage Western countries have, I would not want to answer on their behalf. So far, we are advancing with certain progress," Manturov said.

Production in Russia is being carried out within the framework of an arms program and a prospective program, which is set to be approved in 2024 for the period from 2025 to 2034. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, several ministries are actively working on reconciling and preparing the parameters of the prospective program, primarily the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
