Roads Closed and Impassable in Armenia

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and impassable roads across Armenia. The roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and K'ari Lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass (blizzard and snow) is closed to cargo transport and impassable for passenger vehicles. The winding roads of Spitak and Stepanavan are impassable for trucks.

Roads including Dilijan-Yerevan, Dilijan-Vanadzor, Noyemberyan-Ijevan, Ijevan-Berd, Saravan-Zanger and the road leading to the city of Jermuk are closed for trailers (black ice). The Alagyaz-Artik road (blizzard) is impassable for all types of vehicles.

On the roads leading to Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province, in the areas of Tatev-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, Sisian-Zanger in Syunik Province, in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, and Talin in Aragatsotn Province, in Lanjik-Mastara, and Aparan-Tzilkar roads, as well as in the towns of Spitak, Stepanavan, and Vanadzor in Lori Province, there are patches of black ice.

In the so-called "Meghr-peak" areas, Aparan, Talin (blizzard), Saravan-Zanger, and the roads leading to Jermuk, snow is present. The Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
