Over 11,000 People Left Without Power in Sochi Due to Strong Winds
In four major districts of Sochi, strong winds have damaged overhead power lines, leaving more than 11,000 people without electricity. This information has been provided by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnodar Territory.
"Power supply disruptions have occurred in four districts of Sochi, with a total of up to 11,800 people impacted in the power outage zone. The main reason is damage to the overhead power lines due to the wind. A total of 119 people and 40 units of equipment are involved in resolving the situation," the statement said.
The agency clarified that the winds have also ripped off the roofs of eight residential buildings. A storm warning is in effect in Sochi due to bad weather conditions until December 25.
