Who Could Have Eavesdropped on Zaluzhnyi: Former Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Reports

Former Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar, commenting on the discovery of an eavesdropping device near the country’s Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that there have already been leaks of classified information from military headquarters. Malyar shared this information on her Telegram channel.

According to Malyar, everyone in Ukraine understands that the possibility of eavesdropping and information leaks exists. Therefore, this potential should always be considered when communicating.

“Yes, we have a leak of classified information, let’s say from the headquarters,” she wrote.

She emphasized that military secrets have become public not just once after sensitive information has leaked from the headquarters. Anna Malyar also hinted that Zaluzhnyi may have been eavesdropped on by his colleagues. This was reported by the Readovka Telegram channel.

Malyar suggested that the eavesdropping in Zaluzhnyi’s office has Ukrainian origins. She noted that there are serious restrictions on the carriers of state secrets, including the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even regarding communication. Thus, special service officials are obliged to monitor that the official does not compromise state security.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) confirmed that an eavesdropping device was found in one of the buildings that Valerii Zaluzhnyi could be using for his work. It was noted that the SSU has opened a criminal case under the article “Illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means for obtaining information.”
