Attacks on Commercial Vessels in the Red Sea Every 12 Hours
Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthi) rebel movement representative Mohammed Abdel Salam has announced plans to carry out attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea every 12 hours. He made this statement during an interview with Al Jazeera.
According to him, the 'maritime operations' are proceeding with full force. 'We assume that the operations will take place at least once every 12 hours,' Mohammed Abdel Salam stated.
Previously, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin announced the launch of an operation to protect commercial cargo ships from Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. The operation has been named 'Guardian of Prosperity.' It will involve multiple countries simultaneously, including the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Bahrain, and the Seychelles.
'The recent escalation of reckless attacks by Yemen’s Houthis threatens the free movement of trade, endangers innocent sailors, and violates international law,' stated the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
