Court Issues Posthumous Guilty Verdict Against Producer Armen Grigoryan

The court has issued a posthumous guilty verdict against producer Armen Grigoryan. The information was provided by his lawyer Ruben Melikyan.

It is noteworthy that Armen Grigoryan passed away suddenly in the courtroom. “The verdict will definitely be appealed,” the lawyer wrote.

Recall that Armen Grigoryan was accused of publicly insulting the dignity of citizens. In one of his interviews, he stated that residents of mountainous areas are pure-blood Armenians, while “half of the residents of the plains are orphans and Turks.” He was arrested on May 17, 2022, and the following day he was detained.

During a court session on July 15, 2022, at the Court of General Jurisdiction of the Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts, he lost consciousness. Doctors who arrived at the court attempted to revive his heart function, but their efforts were in vain.
