Aliyev: "Some Political Leaders in France Are Trying to Be More Armenian Than Armenians Themselves"
Following the "anti-terror operation" (the massive military aggression of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh on September 19), certain Western countries have made "groundless" accusations against Azerbaijan. This was stated by the country's President Ilham Aliyev.
"The accusations against us have 'no basis' because Azerbaijan, by conducting 'anti-terror operations' in its 'sovereign territory' (quotes are from Tert.am) against 'separatists and occupiers,' ensured 'the supremacy of international law and, at the same time, restored its sovereignty while maintaining all humanitarian norms,'" Aliyev claimed.
Noting that some Western countries, particularly France, are unwilling to reconcile with this context, Aliyev stated, "Despite the fact that the international community now sees that even Armenia has reconciled with this situation, and the organization of the COP29 conference once again shows this. However, some political leaders in France are trying to be 'more Armenian than Armenians themselves.' But they too will have to come to terms with this situation."
