We Discuss This Openly with Our Allies: Lavrov
Russia did not want to argue with Western countries, but now they are attempting to sever Moscow's ties with the CIS countries. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The information is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Lavrov, the West's 'most significant anti-Russian energy' is concentrated in the post-Soviet space, aiming to destroy the connections between the former Soviet republics. Western institutions and NGOs are trying to penetrate decision-making mechanisms and sensitive areas such as law enforcement and border security.
'We openly discuss this with our allies, the overwhelming majority of whom, in our assessment, clearly understand the intentions of the West. We understand that they do not want to fight Western countries, and we also did not want to fight if they had not started a war against us. However, we see how serious the West perceives the issue of breaking the ties that have united us for decades and centuries,' Lavrov said.
