Russia Has Not Captured Any Ukrainian Village This Year, Zelensky Says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to the United States, sought to assure American audiences that Kyiv's forces have not lost 'any villages' over the past year, even though he acknowledged the loss of the city of Artyomovsk (Ukrainian name: Bakhmut) in May 2023.

‘The most important thing to understand about what is happening is that Russia has not captured any village this year, not a single Ukrainian village,’ he stated in an interview on Fox News.

Zelensky did not elaborate on how his statements should be understood, despite the fact that the Ukrainian authorities themselves have recognized, for example, the loss of Artemovsk (Ukrainian name: Bakhmut) in the spring of 2023.
