Video: Turkish Football Club President Punches Referee After Match

The president of the Turkish football club Ankara Gucu, Faruk Kocan, rushed onto the field and punched referee Halil Umut after the match against Rizespor. This incident has been reported by international media.

Immediately after the conclusion of the Turkish Super Lig match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Faruk Kocan entered the pitch and struck the chief referee. During the game, the referee disallowed a goal by Ankara Gucu player Ali Sow. In the second half, the referee sent him off the field.

Rizespor equalized in the seventh minute of added time thanks to a goal from Adolfo Gayich, while the teams were playing with even numbers.

Following the punch from the football club president, the referee fell to the turf and was further assaulted by unknown individuals who rushed onto the field. The referee was taken to the hospital after the match.

The Board of Directors of the Turkish Football Federation has decided to hold an extraordinary meeting in connection with the incident. The police have announced that they have launched an investigation.
