Armen Melikbekyan Elected as President of the Football Federation of Armenia
During its latest assembly, the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) re-elected the current president, Armen Melikbekyan, to his position. Alongside Melikbekyan, former national team player Aras Ozbiliz had also been nominated for the FFA presidency.
Out of 23 participants in the secret ballot, 20 voted in favor of Melikbekyan, while 3 supported Ozbiliz. Two of the FFA's 25 members, the football clubs 'Noah' and 'Shirak,' did not attend the election.
In his speech before the elections, Armen Melikbekyan stated, “The decision to continue has not been made immediately; it has been thoroughly considered. My team and I have conversed with many of our stakeholders, analyzed the work done, and evaluated what has been accomplished and what has not, after which we assessed what can be done in the future.”
Melikbekyan was first elected president of the federation in December 2019, taking over from former NSS Director Arthur Vanetsyan.
