VIDEO: Boxer Albert Harutyunyan Wins and Brings Fourth Gold to Armenian Team
The Armenian national boxing team achieved an unprecedented, fantastic result at the World Championship for senior youth held in Yerevan. The world championship for Armenian boxers has concluded (final matches are still ongoing). The last final match for the Armenian team was held by Albert Harutyunyan, who fought against Indian boxer Sahil Sahil in the 75 kg weight category and, by winning, brought the fourth gold medal to the Armenian team.
The Indian boxer was quite tall, so Albert had to constantly reduce the striking distance and operate either at close range or in clinch situations. In the first round, Albert executed his plan well and won with a score of 5:0.
Feeling that he was losing, the Indian boxer sharply increased his activity and managed to clinch a victory in the second round with a score of 3:2. The decisive round was the third, during which the Indian found himself in a knockdown but continued to fight tenaciously for the win.
Out of the 16 boxers representing the Armenian team, ten became medalists. Our athletes won 4 gold medals (Vagharshak Keyan, Tigran Hovsepyan, Argishti Hakobyan, Albert Harutyunyan), 5 silver medals (Aren Kharatyan, Samvel Siramayrgyan, Arno Darchinyan, Heghine Petrosyan, Andranik Martirosyan), and 1 bronze medal (Tigran Khachatryan).
