Yerevan's New Year Decorations Will Be Entirely the Same as Last Year, with Only an Additional 11 Million Dram in Expenses, Says Levon Sardarayan
The New Year decorations in Yerevan will be entirely the same as they were last year, with one exception: the municipality has allocated an additional 11 million dram for this purpose. In a conversation with reporters, Levon Sardarayan, spokesperson for the decoration company 'Sinamart', noted that only the staircase leading to the sports concert complex will not be decorated; instead, the garden adjacent to the 'Republic Square' metro station will be adorned.
Sardarayan emphasized that a contract worth approximately 191 million dram was signed with 'Sinamart' to ensure the New Year decorations for 2023, while this year the budget is 201 million dram. 'The budget has changed because metal constructions are being created, and work is being conducted during nighttime hours, leading to additional expenses,' he noted.
It is worth recalling that Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan had announced that the lights on the main Christmas tree will be lit between December 10 and 15 this year.
