VIDEO: I do not rule out that Armenians will live in Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijanis will live in Armenia, Says Simonyan
Azerbaijan is trying to introduce certain issues into the agenda that will artificially complicate the signing of a peace treaty with Armenia. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a conversation with journalists.
“I believe that Azerbaijan is trying to bring up certain issues that will artificially, perhaps, complicate the signing of the peace treaty. What we have conveyed and what we are negotiating is well known to us and is well known to them, and discussing it constantly creates artificial problems. It is clear that we are indeed talking about peace and not just signing a paper or pretending,” said Simonyan.
According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, some time must pass, and the Azerbaijani side must reduce hate speech. “It should be understandable that, yes, time will pass, and I do not rule out that Armenians will go to live in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis will come to live in Armenia, trading with each other. Yes, we are heading towards peace; peace does not happen otherwise, and the claims that we have been in conflict with each other and that it is an unsolvable problem for us is unacceptable to me because history is known for many cases. England and France fought for 116 years, and today England and France are allies with each other,” he noted.
Speaking about Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, Simonyan also mentioned that one cannot kill an Armenian soldier and then claim to fear revanchism and thus establish normal relations.
