Video: 1 Minute of Silence in Parliament to Honor the Victims of the 1988 Earthquake
Today, at the start of the parliamentary session, Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan proposed a moment of silence to honor the victims of the 1988 earthquake.
35 years ago, on December 7, 1988, an earthquake devastated several towns in Armenia's northern region, including Gyumri, Vanadzor, Spitak, and their surrounding areas. The disaster claimed the lives of approximately 25,000 people.
