VIDEO: Tensions at Alaverdi Municipality as Police Block Mayor's Entry

Police forcefully broke down the door of the Alaverdi Municipality's meeting hall in the Lori province, preventing community leader Arkadi Tamazyan from entering. It is noteworthy that the Alaverdi city council's 'Civil Contract' faction has expressed no confidence in Mayor Arkadi Tamazyan. The ruling faction also plans to boycott council sessions.

Residents of Alaverdi are conducting a protest against this initiative from the city council. Presently, a large number of police officers are not allowing municipal employees to enter the building.

The Civil Contract party has submitted a decision on the no-confidence motion against the mayor, which is to be discussed in the meeting's agenda. Mayor Arkadi Tamazyan has stated that the Civil Contract is attempting to unlawfully remove him from office.
